Teachers

In the past we’ve found that many teachers are sceptical about the Dore Programme and think that we’re trying to replace or undermine the work that happens in schools. We’d like to be clear that this is absolutely not the case.

For us, the brilliant work that teachers and learning support professionals do in schools is not something we would ever want to interfere with, or replace. The Dore Programme runs along side, but separate to all the fantastic activities and learning that happens in schools.

Helping children learn how to learn

Our Programme is based around a practical set of exercises that are tailored to each individual and designed to boost cerebellar function. The Programme increases the child’s ability to learn, but the stimulation, practice and learning itself tends to take place at Schools and with extra support from parents.

Children who’ve previously been disruptive, or demanded a lot of extra attention in class, begin to demonstrate calmer behaviour and settle down, as learning becomes easier for them. We hope that you share our belief that this is a positive outcome for the child, their teachers and of course the parents – as time and resources can then be directed to enhancing the learning experience, rather than dealing with the symptoms.

We’ve done some extensive research in schools, which clearly demonstrates the benefits our Programme can have. These include Balsall Common research and Anglesey research to mention just two.
