Background
John Steele was a normal, bright, pre-school boy. That was until he started school and his behavioural problems came into their own. As John was generally able to stay seated and didn’t show classic ‘Hyper’ signs in school, his parents didn’t realise that there was a problem. The symptoms were all there of course, he forgot homework, he didn’t know where to start if given a project, he was talkative in class, he interrupted conversations and had a problem making and keeping friends. Despite creating regular routines and disciplines in the home environment, John had little or no comprehension of boundaries. Everything had to be reinforced on a daily basis. Getting up and dressing was a chore, he continuously forgot lunches, sports gear and no matter what the consequences, his actions and personal frustrations didn’t influence his behaviour. There appeared to be no automatic behaviour. By the time he had completed his first year at secondary school his teachers were concerned that John appeared to have lost interest, severely lacked concentration and his disruptive behaviour was endangering his development at school.
“It was like I had a five lane motorway running through my head with all the cars going in different directions.”

John’s journey
John’s family were becoming increasingly concerned at his rate of deterioration. It was around this time that his parents came across Dore. As they read over Dore’s online test for ADHD, John appeared to tick every box from fussy eating to not being able to sleep at night. It was a massive weight off John’s shoulders to realise that he wasn’t just bad, that he wasn’t going to feel like this for the rest of his life and that he had a future. After only a few days on the Programme, John commented that he felt like he had been given half of his body back...he was 12 years old! John performed 2-5 minutes of exercises twice a day for just over a year. Completing each exercise, every day was key to John’s success. He never complained as he could see the benefits for himself and he continues to into his adult life.
The future
Family life in the Steele household has been transformed. John now comes home from school, lets his mother know he is going to do his homework and they don’t see him again until it is finished and well presented. For the first time in his life he is enjoying his life and all the natural learning that previously frustrated him in his younger life. He is enjoying school, his sleep patterns are normal and he jumps out of bed in the morning. His teachers have also all commented on John’s all round improvement and general positive attitude to life.
“It was like a massive weight had lifted off my shoulders to know that there was a reason for my son’s behaviour and that I wasn’t just a bad mother.”
